Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors, evaluates, and maintains systems and procedures to safeguard internal information systems and databases
- Researches, recommends, and implements changes to enhance systems security
- Educates and communicates security requirements and procedures to all users and new employees
- Operates under minimal supervision
- Requires highly skilled individual with extensive proficiency in the field and works on complex projects
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience and ability to capture and analyze network traffic in real time
- Experience with packet and payload analysis
- Experience with network signature analysis with tools such as SNORT, NetFLOW, WireShark, tcpdump or related tools
- Thorough understanding of Firewalls, Proxies, VPN, covert tunneling, Layer 3 switching, intrusion detection systems and data reconstruction
- Ability to use networking tools, system tools and logs to synthesize intrusions and enumerate indicators of potential intrusions
- Thorough understanding of multiple platform Operating Systems
- Ability to use networking tools, system tools and logs to synthesize intrusions and enumerate indicators of potential intrusions
- Thorough understanding of computer security incident response methodologies
- Experience managing an investigation; understanding the methodologies for investigative triage, case/investigation definition, etc.
- Experience conducting investigations and the preservation of chain of evidence
- Ability to contribute to a security investigation in all phases of data gathers, analysis and correlation
- GIAC, CSSIP or similar certification is a plus
- Computer Science, Mathematics degree or equivalent experience
- US Citizen
