    Experience and Education
    5 years working experience in the following:
    • Direct marketing or catalog environment: Must be knowledgeable of print or catalog trends and marketing cycles.
    • E-commerce experience; Must be knowledgeable of how copy, search, usability issues and email are used to promote customer experience and sales
    • Search engine marketing experience (natural and paid); must have understanding of how keywords, metatags, and copy apply to search strategies
    • Web content; must have solid understanding of the difference between print and online copy, and how internet copy should be written to promote an enhanced customer experience and sales
    • Copywriting skill; must have a well-developed understanding of how engaging Web copy is best optimized for natural search, user experience, brand consistency and customer benefit.
    • Management experience; identify team roles and take responsibility for staffing. Set and communicate team goals. Monitor team progress. Actively work to maintain team rapport and foster team atmosphere.
    3-4 years experience in Social Media; understanding of opportunities, best practices, and changing environments.

    Educational Requirements:
    • Bachelor degree in English, Advertising, or Communication. A combination of work experience and education will be considered.

    Specialized Skills:
    Must possess high skill levels for:
    • Windows (Excel and word), Mac, Adobe Creative Suite tools used for copywriting, scheduling and keywords
    • Internal QA database system to retrieve and utilize key information
    • Supervisory Skill to give direction to copywriters

    • Problem solving effectively solve interpersonal and technical problems as they arise

    Requirements:
    We are currently looking for an experienced Internet Copy Manager to work in our Creative Marketing Services Department in Monroe, Wisconsin. This leader will be responsible for managing the Internet copywriting team to ensure brand consistency and best practices are being utilized. Responsible for writing email headline, subject and body copy for assigned brands, as well as website updates, including home pages, site sections, and landing pages. Will work with Creative Internet Director and web designers to ensure the copy and visuals work together. Will work with and manage Internet copywriters to ensure that copy formatting and search optimization is completed in a timely and brand-appropriate manner, and assists in order to meet deadlines, if necessary. Will work with catalog brand teams (often consisting of various members, including graphic artists, art directors, copywriters, merchandisers, brand managers and catalog managers), to ensure that brand updates and changes are translated to the online medium. Works to actively promote the brand on a strategic level and introduce new brand-effective initiatives via the website and email.

    Specific Responsibilities:
    • Manage the Internet copywriting team (30%-40%)
    • Participate on a strategic initiative level to improve sales. Recognize opportunities and coach/develop to improve channel performance through copy writing execution. (30%-40%)
    • Write engaging, benefit-oriented email & website copy for assigned brand(s) as needed (25%-30%)
    • Works with Creative Marketing Services (CMS) and Integrated Marketing Systems (IMS) Internet to ensure that email and website metrics are being communicated and utilized in creative strategy (15%-20%)
    • Attends Internet IMS/CMS meetings as necessary; acts as brand liaison
    • Identifies efficient project workflow processes and acts as a change agent
    • Familiarize and learn top-line points of differentiation between each catalog voice/brand.
    • Research and stay current with the best practices of Internet copywriting/editing.
    • Identifies products across all brands where sales could be increased with tools like interactive videos, animation, stories, reviews, etc.
    • Monitors competitors for any and all online activities that affect brand; appraises internal customers of activities
    • Work or assist on other Internet projects like sweepstakes, monitoring customer emails and addressing online service issues
    • Demonstrates positive and constructive problem solving, ability to work as a highly effective collaborator and networker
    • Leads by example, promotes and demonstrates effective execution of the Colony Brand Core Values and Standards
